N-Gage First Access? It seems Nokia have delayed the release of the new N-Gage platform 'N-gage First Access'. The platform was expected before Christmas but according to the Nokia blog has been delayed, during the testing phase issues were brought to light which Nokia felt had to be resolved. Although a new indication of release time has been mentioned as early 2008 it is not certain when the new N-Gage platform will be kicked off. Crude Oil Prices Crude Oil reaches a new high with a price of over a $100 per barrel. So what does this mean for the rest of us? The cost of a litre of petrol at the pumps is now 103.3p - beating the previous record of 102.92p set on Boxing Day. The increase means that filling a typical 50-litre tank now costs £7.36 more than a year ago. Peeps expect petrol prices to keep rising, its only logical as the world burns up more oil, so why not introduce a alternative cheaper bio fuel? Well the simple answer is oil is a major contributor of the world economy so a sharp decline in oil purchase could be bad news for the economy. Ngage-QD-Help Forums are BACK! As most of our members were probably aware we have received a major duration of down time on our forums, the cause a hack. The hack removed all posts from the forum including all members! Over the last 2 weeks we have been slaving away trying to get the forum updated and back online! And as of last night (1am past Midnight!) thanks to Undescriptive and myself and some late night groggy remarks to one another we finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Iran Says America Should "Learn Manners" As Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad continues to say that his purpose is to destroy the Western world and "wipe Israel from the map", its Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani said that the United States needs to "learn manners". XBox 360 kicks off Console Wars!! As the launch of the XBOX 360 approached it was clear to see that many peeps were interested in purchasing the console especially as the launch was crafted to fall for the Christmas Season. I have to say from experience in playing the console it is a pretty nice bit of kit, it is powered by a processor with three IBM PowerPC 3.2GHz chips, with a custom ATI 500MHz graphics processor and 512Mb of RAM! The only thing I couldn't understand was why did Microsoft seem to deliver so little units when there was so high demand surely this was a bad market move as peeps expected it to be sitting under their christmas tree's in time for christmas!? N-Gage, the coming months.. Nokia is planning to redesign its N-Gage QD mobile phone/handheld gaming system hybrid, with a new look and colour scheme high up on the list of changes. Reuters is reporting that Gerard Wiener, the bloke with the task of steering the N-Gage wagon, has talked of a new visual style and possible performance updates - including improved wireless connectivity - for the future. "We're looking at new colors, a new look and feel for the QD in the next few months," said Wiener, speaking at the Game Developers Conference, currently underway in San Francisco. The future of the N-Gage Gamedeck? First there was the release of Nintendo's DS, then Sony's PSP, so where does that leave the N-Gage Gamedeck? Rumors were swirling last week of the N-Gage's demise. Not so fast, says Gerard Weiner, the new director of Nokia's (NOK) game business, who is trying to revive the ailing unit. In an interview on Friday, he assured people that Nokia isn't retiring the much-maligned device that is both a gaming console and a cell phone. Bomberman Released! Bomberman has finally been released, I think this game is going to be awesome especially in multiplayer! Neo-Geo Emulator coming for N-Gage! I have just been recently informed by the owner of N-Gage Help (13th Hour), That the emulator is actually of the neo-geo pocket shown on the right! Sorry for any confusion caused and thanks 13th Hour! The people designing this are currently having problems with the fps but this should be fixed soon, expect a beta release for around July time!
